Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Sophie Ames is senior vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) for Veritas Technologies, LLC. In this role, she is responsible for leading the company’s global human capital HR strategy which includes talent acquisition, learning and development, business partnerships, organizational effectiveness, compensation and benefits, corporate responsibility, diversity and inclusion, HR operations, and internal communications.

Sophie has 20 years of global HR experience working at leading international technology and services organizations where she established a strong track record of building agile, high performance HR teams. She focuses on integrating people and business strategy to drive sustained improvements in organizational performance while providing strategic and operational leadership in fast-paced environments.

Prior to joining Veritas, she served as Vice President, Global Learning and Enablement at Avaya, where she also held several human resources leadership positions leading HR Business Partner teams for the Engineering, Sales, and Marketing organizations while the company was undergoing a major business transformation initiative.

Sophie holds a bachelor's degree in business and applied foreign languages from Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France.
